Within this flourishing nation, we are able to consume just about any food we like; and because of the occupied work life that everyone are having, there is absolutely no spare occasion to exercise. Appears to be familiar? Certainly, over-eating, consuming unhealthily, under-exercising or neglecting ourselves happens to be a problem to numerous individuals because of such lifestyle.
I frequently hear people yearning to be slender, appealing as well as in good shape like a super star but the majority are not doing anything to adjust that, most likely this is due to the simple fact the life gets in the way.
"I would really like to keep fit, " we complain, "But I have no free time due to my busy work schedule and I can't afford a personal trainer. " "I want to eat lesser, " we heard, "But the buffet is so scrumptious and I can't waste the food. "
Would it be so marvelous to have tons of free time: to plan our days; to cook healthy and low calorie meals; to exercise without time constraints; to be able to enjoy ourselves without the pressure of deadlines? Unfortunately, our lives are too hectic for that to happen. We can give up and continue this kind of lifestyle or we can calmly sit down to come out a personal plan that can fit into our lifestyle and adjust around it.
I have some ideas for you to consider:
1. Diet
If you are on a rush and fast food is your only choice, order wisely. Get a salad and put, if you must, your own pre-packed low calorie dressing. Avoid heavy sugar drink such as colas but opt for unsweetened tea, black coffee or diet soda. For burgers or sandwich, get the regular size type and do not up-size! Lastly, forget all about the French fries and onion rings.
Do not stock your office with snacks and tidbits. If you don't see it, you will not crave it.
Plan ahead whenever there is a need to attend business lunches, dinners, or meeting banquets. For lunch, easy, just order salad (with your own dressing, of course); For main course, order fish and cottage cheese are best and available almost anywhere. As for dinner, I got a good trick to share...I always tell my friend that, if you do not want to eat too much, order something that you have to work at such as crab legs, shrimps that you need to peel, etc. In this way, no one will notice how little you are actually eating!
The most difficult one - banquets...because the plate will be filled with food you would never order by choice. I suggest that you cut whatever protein and meat into little pieces and chew slowly. Eat slowly and then place a cup of black coffee in front of your plate to block waiter or friends from serving you more food on your plate.
Try these little changes and make them into a habit so that over time, you can see significant impact on your weight.
2. Exercise
There should not be any excuses for not exercising. I do not believe that you do not even have a mere 15 minutes to spare. All you need to do is to slip a simple exercise into your schedule or working hours and it is easily achievable! Simple stretching with weights, push-ups, sit-ups, yoga, etc.,can be inserted at any moment of your crowded work life. Make it into a regularly routine and you can just burn some calories away.
Of course, if you have more time to spare, you can join a gym or aerobics / Pilate program to burn more fats.
3. Taking Care of Yourselves
We know we need to take care of ourselves but our lives may get in the way again because of hectic lives and the "forever cannot finish" household chores. Due to lack of time, we may only do a minimal routine of makeup remover, toner, and moisturizer. We shampoo our hair when we can and occasionally find the time for a facial. We always tell ourselves, " wait till I have the time, I'll work on it. " Imagine, twenty years later, when the wrinkles start to become visible and our skin no longer glows, then we will bemoan our lack of care through the years and it will be too late to "repair" our looks.
Therefore, I suggest that we have to pamper ourselves now. Steal a couple of hours, once a week for yourself to really pamper yourselves. Go window shopping; take deep treatments for your face or your hair; practice relaxation, listen to music, etc. Take pleasure in life and guide a healthy living by considering yourself, your own ambitions, as well as your dreams.
I highly believe that the more happy you are, the healthier your body and mind are going to be.
